Chris Cullen, creator of “Love Without Borders” on Bravo’s new dating show

Chris Cullen knows what makes a successful TV show. As CEO of Kinetic Content, his current slate of shows includes Netflix’s “Married at First Sight,” Netflix’s “Love Is Blind,” and “The Ultimatum,” to name a few.

Now, he’s moving to collaborate with Bravo for the second time, following 2020’s “Spy Games.” In Kinetic’s latest off-script series, “Love Without Borders,” five bachelors are looking to change how they look for love — and where they look. They drop everything and fly across the world to meet their match with the help of relationship expert Arika Angelou.

“It’s an idea that I really liked and it resonated with me. I felt like it had some residency within the culture. There’s a statistic I saw in 2016 that said something like 60 million Americans, if they had the opportunity to leave the country and reside somewhere else, they’d take it,” Cullen said. diverse. “That was in 2016. A lot has happened since 2016.”

Like most of his projects, Cullen also felt he could relate to the premise personally.

“At certain points in my life, I was stuck in a professional rut. I felt like my geographic location was a hindrance to finding love, finding someone I wanted to be with. I felt like, ‘Oh, my God, I really need to leave LA and move to Oregon for some Air, and then I would find the woman of my dreams,” he recalled. “I would think to myself, This is never going to happen in L.A.”

In the end, he was wrong but he knows he’s not alone in this feeling.

“I think this is a great fit for people who not only want to find love — who doesn’t want to find love? — but also, a lot of people feel like they want to turn their lives around,” says Cullen. “I think this is a show really rooted in the idea of people feeling like they want to change their lives as much as they want to find love.”

“Love Without Borders” premieres Wednesday, November 30 at 9 p.m. ET.
