The actor has been doing the press rounds recently on behalf of Which. t. extra terrestrial I turned 40 (gosh, I’m so old), and during our conversation, I brought up the story of the proposal ET A sequel titled Night fears. This was an idea that was pitched by both Steven Spielberg and original screenwriter Melissa Mathison. I wanted to know how far the project had come, and whether Thomas recalled being approached in the following years ET He told CinemaBlend:
There was certainly a lot of talk in the early days and throughout the ’80s about a possible sequel. But it was always shot down too soon by Spielberg. I think he just considers this a classic, indie movie and a feather in his cap in so many ways. So I think he’s reticent about touching it at all.
