In its 100 years of making movies and creating characters, Disney has created some of the most iconic villains in cinematic history. In places like Disneyland, you can meet and interact with these villains yourself, but what seems more fun is watching these villains hang out together. Recently a fan was arrested snow white The evil queen hangs out with her Beauty and the beastGaston, the score is everything.
A couple of videos have been posted on Instagram which shows a number of costumed characters interacting together. The scene begins with the Wicked Queen and Gaston hanging on the bridge near Sleeping Beauty’s castle when Peter Pan, Wendy, and Captain Hook pass by. Gaston throws some shade at Captain Hook, who tries a little to look menacing, but Gaston doesn’t really care.
From there, the Evil Queen responds, speaking of the “happy thoughts” she’s been having, specifically Snow White’s brutal demise. She and Gaston take turns at each other while the Queen acts regally and arrogantly and Gaston tries to be nice and pompous. The two turn to Snow White wishing well, ready to treat her singing voice, but luckily nobody tosses any coins. It’s just funny and interesting.
We see this kind of interaction between costumed Disney park characters every now and then, and it always makes for great live entertainment. It also seems to happen often. While fully costumed characters in masks cannot communicate with guests, “face characters”, those who do not have to cover their heads, can. This includes all of the Marvel heroes on the Avengers Campus, and results in a lively theme park where characters can interact with guests and each other.
Having said that, even costumed characters can create special moments for guests, as Mickey Mouse himself recently showed when he met Walt Disney at the park and they had an emotional encounter.
Seeing the characters talk to each other like this makes the Disney Parks grounds feel more real than they would otherwise and completely changes the atmosphere in the park for the better. It’s a simple way to add value to parks that guests can’t find anywhere else. When you get stuck on this, you get an experience that no one else has, and you don’t have to pay more for it. It’s very nice.
As we see more character interactions in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and the Avengers Campus, we hope that seeing classic characters do more of this will become the rule more than the exception. Each combination of heroes and villains offers new fun or exciting moments. It’s those moments that revive Snake’s memories and that’s what a trip to Disneyland is all about.
