The original Batmobile is for sale for a huge amount of money

As superhero vehicles go, there are few more iconic than the Batmobile and even inside that beloved vehicle, there are few as recognizable as the Michael Keaton-driven Caped Crusader in the Tim Burton-directed Batmobile. Batman And the Batman Returns Movies from the late 80’s and early 90’s. Now, one of those cars – specifically one made for the Six Flags Batman Stunt Show – is for sale at a price only a real-life Bruce Wayne can afford.

according to NBC New Yorkthe Batmobile from the Six Flags Batman Stunt Show is currently for sale through Pennsylvania-based Classic Auto Mall For $1.5 million. The vehicle, while not actually a prop from Batman or Batman Returns, was built by the same company that was contracted to make the Batmobile used in the movie and is one of only five built – two for the movie and three for stunts and performances.

The car’s description indicates that it is not a street-legal car and has a custom fiberglass exterior featuring prototype Daytona racer fenders, center-mounted turbojet engine turbines, bat-shaped fins, wrap-around window, closed cockpit design and 3-passenger seating. The stunt car is also powered by an electric motor with a top speed of around 30 mph, but the listing notes, “And because the batteries haven’t been charged since about 1993, we didn’t want to risk a breakdown or a fire.”

The description reads: “Honouring our flagship showroom and now offering for consignment, the amazing opportunity to become the proud owner of this extremely rare item and on par with the Number 1 Six Flags Batmobile.” Although it is not used in any of the Batman movies and is not street legal, its popularity stems from the Six Flags Batman Stunt Show. It always attracts a roar of applause during its thrilling show from the always excited crowd to the same applause mixed almost with ooohhs and aaahhs from GUESTS OF OUR HOLY HALLS This eye-catchingly designed and very popular design with a stunt driver’s cabin hidden behind the cockpit, (more on this later), certainly produces the illusion of a driverless vehicle like it roamed around the show as a voice-controlled showpiece. Still eco-friendly, with its 48-volt DC propulsion system and a functional flamethrower built into the “exhaust,” it’s hard for Jones to be able to keep up with this.ZAP!
