Uncharted is getting a theme park ride

The Uncharted series is a roller coaster of sorts…and now it’s literally getting you on a real roller coaster. Uncharted is one of PlayStation’s most popular and successful franchises and is the first to reach a mainstream audience outside of its games. Although the Uncharted series concluded (at least for now) in 2017 with the standalone expansion The lost legacySony is trying to keep the ball rolling. After a decade of development hell, the Unknown The movie was released earlier this year with Spider-Man star Tom Holland as Nathan Drake. It got a mixed reaction from fans and critics, but it did well at the box office and it looks like there are plans for more films.

However, Sony doesn’t seem to be satisfied with games and movies…they need more, something that brings you closer to the Nathan Drake experience. The Uncharted roller coaster opens in 2023 at PortAventura World, Spain. The ride is expected to be about 40 feet high and will be inside an indoor space, like some of Disney’s Guardians of the Galaxy and Star Wars rides. It is expected to capture the excitement and sense of adventure that comes with the Uncharted franchise and help you immerse yourself in the treasure hunt. We don’t know what it looks like yet, but it’ll open in mid-2023. The ride is being made in partnership with Sony Pictures, so this may depend more on the movie than the games, but it’s unclear if Tom Holland will be doing any sort of new Nathan Drake sequel. for this trip.

Either way, if you loved Uncharted, this is a very exciting new addition to the franchise. It’s a bit weird and unfamiliar, but at least it fits the game’s themes. The Uncharted series is known for its big set pieces, which often involve Nathan Drake hanging from elevated spaces like airplanes.
