When it was announced that pete davidson would join Suicide Squad The cast, I was so intrigued by the idea that he could appear in more new DC movies, probably. However, that doesn’t mean that his chances of appearing in more upcoming superhero movies have completely run out.
I actually think some of the upcoming Marvel movies (or maybe even upcoming Marvel TV shows) could benefit someone as much as the previous one Saturday Night Live Cast member, who certainly wouldn’t be the first actor known primarily for comics to make a splash in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Not only does he have a distinctive, sharp sense of humor, but — as he’s proven in several of his best films, especially the semi-autobiographical 2020, King of Staten Island – He also has the chops to deliver a performance on par with any of the franchise’s biggest stars. Because if and when that happens, we’ve got quite a few Marvel characters left, starting with one that bears some similarities to his recent role in a comic.

Now, while I was determined to subvert expectations with the previous entry by finding a character who shifted dramatically from the Blackguard, I couldn’t help but look to a few of Pete Davidson’s most iconic acting roles for inspiration when looking for other Marvel characters that might be right up his alley. . For example, among the quite a number of voice acting roles he’s landed, the most famous by far is, easily, the lead role in the Netflix animated adaptation of the popular comic strip, MarmadukeWhich gave me a great idea.
There are, throughout the Marvel Multiverse, an infinite amount of variations of Deadpool – one of which is a four-legged, furry, domesticated animal named Dogpool. Of course, the obvious choice to play this kind of dog from Merc with a Mouth would be the actor who actually plays him, Ryan Reynolds, and there’s definitely a part of me that wants to see that happen, too. However, I also think it might be more fun to see Reynolds play someone else in the role, and the fact that Davidson has experience voicing a dog is one of the many reasons.

In 2022, Pete Davidson expands his repertoire into an even more terrifying variety by starring in a film that is admittedly also imbued with some dark comedy: the A24-produced thriller, Bodies Bodies Bodies. His performance in the cleverly satirical slasher proved that more upcoming horror films could be in his future, and if we’re interested in trying a different sub-genre altogether, that opportunity may lie in the Marvel Universe.
There’s a huge variety of horror-inspired characters in Marvel Comics – a number of which have already debuted in the Disney+ exclusive Halloween special, Werewolf by night. Missing from this fun homage to old-school horror cinema, Simon Garth has been known as Zombie ever since a voodoo spell turns him back into a mindless walking corpse with a vaguely heroic determination. Perhaps if Marvel Studios does another Halloween special in the future, Davidson could be the star as a character who will definitely be a new challenge for him.

Come to think of it, something I could see some fans understandably disagreeing with is the fact that Pete Davidson doesn’t look much like any of these characters. Well, if that has, in fact, kept him from landing any of the aforementioned roles (except, perhaps, Dogpool), then I’ve been able to find one character the actor actually bears some resemblance to called The Beyonder.
Even if you think this being looks average and young, it is actually a physical manifestation of a whole alternate reality that delights in kidnapping humans and pitting them against each other in Violent death matches. Considering how the MCU has already experimented with Multiversal themes lately, I’m guessing this villain won’t have trouble fitting in, but could also be a game-changer in terms of dark intentions.
Even if Pete Davidson’s comic book movie career really ends at the beginning and end with the Blackguard, that’s not a bad way out. After all, his future still looks bright with some great upcoming projects – like the 2023 movie version of The Transformers: Rise of the Monsters And his leading role in a new horror movie from Cleansing Creator James de Monaco, called the housewhich is now filming.
