The Georgia legend holds great respect for the name Stetson Bennett IV

Georgia passing leader Aaron Murray is poised to crown Stetson Bennett IV as the greatest Bulldog quarterback of all time.

It wasn’t long ago that Stetson Bennett IV was the underrated quarterback at Georgia. Now he is a national and SEC champion with his sights set on adding a second national title to the Bulldogs’ trophy cabinet.

It’s also the greatest ever for the Dawgs, according to former Georgia quarterback Aaron Morey.

“Not only is Stetson Bennett going to NYC, he’s GOAT mode at UGA,” Murray tweeted. “He is the greatest QB in Georgia history.”

Murray owns the Georgia career passing mark with 13,166 yards. His 121 passing touchdowns is by far the most in Bulldog history. He knows what it’s like to play great in midfield in Athens.

Matthew Stafford might want to get a word out on who is the most talented Georgia running back in history, but Bennett has definitely achieved things that few other Doug QBS have ever managed.

Bennett brought Georgia a national championship in the toughest era to win the title, beating the odds in the College Football Playoff en route to the Cup.

Now this year he has led the Bulldogs to their first 13-0 record. Georgia has only had two more undefeated campaigns in the past 100 years, going 12-0 on the way to the 1980 National Championship and 11-0 to the 1946 title.

Bennett has already set the record for the most wins in a single season for Georgia. That was his 14th in 2021. He’s two College Football Playoff wins this year away from setting a new record for wins.

Offering a second championship would make Murray’s confirmation non-negotiable.
