3 teams should bet on Anthony Richardson in the 2023 NFL Draft

With Anthony Richardson turning pro, the former Florida Gators star quarterback should be a handful of NFL teams.

The talent and upside are there, but Anthony Richardson would be a work in progress in the NFL.

However, that doesn’t mean that some of the league’s 32 franchises won’t be intrigued by the former Florida star’s pure and undeniable talent. If all goes according to plan, he could be the next Cam Newton. If he’s too rough to reach his potential peak, he could be out of the league as fast as he was in Florida. Either way, Richardson is a prospect worth drafting.

Here are three teams that could put a huge dent on Richardson in the first round this spring.

Would it all be a shock to you if the Green Bay Packers decided to take a mulligan in wasting Jordan Love and pick a player largely seen as a better prospect than he is in Richardson? Although Richardson can catch great speed in the NFL, he can do things at the net that Love was unable to do during his exciting sophomore year at Utah.

With Aaron Rodgers pretty much a year-over-year player at this point in his career, it would be foolish for the Packers not to have a backup plan, just in case he decides to retire on a whim. By taking Richardson, the Packers may be tempted to trade the love for a different franchise. He will help the Packers recover draft picks by sending Love to a team that can exercise his fifth-year option.

Richardson’s drafting suggests the Packers rebuild but will expand Matt Lafleur’s coliseum slightly.
