DJI Mini 3 is a cheaper 250g drone that is said to be launched on December 9th

There may be a new drone on the horizon, as DJI is set to release the less expensive Mini 3 on December 9th.

DJI has been pretty dominant in the drone space for quite some time. Earlier in the year, the company announced the Mini 3 Pro, a consumer drone that weighs less than 250 grams and is packed with many great features and is very compact. Now, the company could be launching a more affordable version of the Mini 3 Pro, as it was spotted at a major retailer ahead of its official announcement. The Mini 3 will arrive on December 9 and will be priced significantly lower than its “Pro” sibling.

The Mini 3 will be a stripped-down version of the Mini 3 Pro, offering most of the features of the Pro model, but coming at a lower price point. If the photo that Shane Scordamaglia snapped and shared on Twitter is accurate, the new RC drone will cost $859.99. Currently, the Mini 3 Pro with RC Remote Control costs $909. While there is a slight difference in price, it really isn’t much, which could leave people turning to the higher-end model or an alternative solution like the older Mini 2.

While we await an official release, we know that the Mini 3 will offer 4K video, vertical video recording, a flight time of 38 minutes, and a flight distance of 10km. For the most part, this is pretty good, as the Mini 3’s flight time is just over the Mini 3 Pro’s. For now, it would be best to wait and see, and if the December 9 announcement is correct, we won’t have to wait long for all the details of the new drone.

What are your thoughts on the upcoming Mini 3 and the previously released Mini 3 Pro? Which would you buy if you were in the market? Let us know in the comments below.
