These stats show that Russell Wilson’s Broncos make the worst of it all

Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson has yet to do what the Broncos have expected of him this season, which is historically bad.

There’s no secret that Russell Wilson has been playing so badly with the Denver Broncos this season. Denver has struggled to lock down a reliable quarterback since Peyton Manning retired in 2016, and Wilson looked like a very promising signing until he proved far from it.

According to The Athletic’s Mike Sandow, Wilson leads the team to be historically bad.

The Broncos now have a 3-9 record, dead last in the AFC West standings, definitely a disappointing direction to go as the team hoped to rebuild and have a chance at success like they used to.

Wilson should bring more potential to the team as well. It’s even more frustrating that he’s a lot less than he’s done in the past and he’s taking the entire Broncos with him.

However, this is his first team change of his career and he has shown consistent talent in the past, so he could benefit from the doubt at the moment.

There may be hope for Broncos QB Russell Wilson in the future

While it would be a complete stretch to say Wilson can improve this season, there is a realistic chance that this is just a downpour of bad luck and he could come back strong next season.

This season doesn’t nearly reflect what he has consistently proven capable of with the Seattle Seahawks. Over his past four seasons, he has had 1,264 completions with a completion percentage of 66.3, 14,833 passing yards and 131 touchdowns.

He has also brought the Seahawks to two Super Bowls, one of which he won. They frequented the playoffs with Wilson around. His poor performance is unusual given his history, so the suspicion could be taken advantage of during this season. However, if he’s just as bad next season, he’ll prove he’s no longer in his prime.

Either way, it’s very unfortunate for the Broncos to have this kind of season.
