2022 NFL Power Rankings, Week 14:49 laps, Colts flip

There were headliners in Philadelphia, Cincinnati and San Francisco on Sunday featuring some of the best teams in the NFL Power Rankings.

Two teams in the NFC had chances to win playoff games that didn’t happen despite their wins. There were notable wins in Atlanta and Chicago by visiting franchises. The picture of the AFC match suddenly became more interesting. Finally, there is a change at the top of the latest NFL Power rankings.

Houston Tx 1-10-1

last week: L, 27-14 vs CLE
last ranking: 32

The Texans will face former starting quarterback Deshaun Watson and the Browns visit Houston. Lovie Smith’s team was his worst enemy because the offensive and special teams gave up on touchdowns.

After taking a 5-0 lead in the second quarter, the Texans gave up a 76-yard TDs kick return. Smith finished the game with four turnovers, and quarterback Kyle Allen had three of those fumbles—two of those turnovers recovered for scores.

Los Angeles Rams 3-9

last week: L, 27-23 vs SEA
last ranking: 30

The defending Super Bowl champions have lost a streak of five straight games in their showdown with the Seahawks. John Walford had made his second start of the season in place of Matthew Stafford. It was a back-and-forth affair that saw the Rams lead 23-20 with 2:56 to play.

But the Los Angeles defense couldn’t stop Gino Smith when it mattered most. With a 3-9 record, Sean McVay was in the midst of his first losing season as a head coach in the NFL.

Chicago Bears 3-10

last week: L, 28-19 vs. GB
last ranking: 29

Not only were the Bears looking to end a five-game winning streak, they were hoping to slip from a seven-game lead to the rival Packers. Things looked good early on for the home team as Justin Fields (55 yards) and David Montgomery (7 yards) ran for touchdowns.

The club held a 19-10 advantage after three quarters but was outscored 18-0 the rest of the way. During Chicago’s current six-game slide, Matt Eberflus has allowed an annoyingly high 200 points.

29

Indianapolis Colts 4-8-1

last week: L, 54-19 in DAL
last ranking: 27

The disappointing Dallas Colts were in a prime-time showdown with the Cowboys. Jeff’s club on Saturday owned a surprising 10-7 lead after 15 minutes of play but would end up down by eight points at halftime.

After closing the gap to 21-19 in the third quarter on a Matt Ryan touchdown pass to Alex Pearce, it got pretty ugly for Saturday’s team. The Colts turned over the football four times and were outscored 33-0 in the fourth quarter.
