The New York Yankees have yet to meet super free agent Aaron Judge in winter meetings, and there are no scheduled face-to-face meetings.
As we enter the third day of the MLB Winter Meetings, there hasn’t been much progress on the Aaron Judge front. While Monday afternoon saw the likes of Trea Turner and Justin Verlander sign to new teams, Judge is still a rather huge domino to fall.
the judge You are expected to earn Over $300 million, especially considering the contract handed to Turner by the Phillies. 11 years and $300 million for a player many would consider Judge’s inferior, and at the same age shows just how high Judge’s market is.
In order to meet the judge’s demands, the Yankees need to see him in person at some point. He was expected to arrive in San Diego on Tuesday to resume negotiations with both the New York Giants and San Francisco Giants, though that is in doubt at this point.

New York has yet to meet its highest free agent priority in the winter meetings, which of course keeps Aaron Judge at Pinstripes. Hal Steinbrenner met Judge earlier this season.
Per Cashman, the Yankees have also made several recent offers to Judge.
Judge is the freshman AL MVP, with a 62-home run season in which he broke Roger Maris’ longtime American League record. The Yankees offered him $213.5 million for seven years before the start of the season. Judge turned this down, to the dismay of many fans in The Bronx, and so he bet himself that he would have another season.
And the 30-year-old did. The judge will have to choose between New York and San Francisco at least. The Giants will likely offer more money, as they must convince Judge to leave the only team he’s ever known. Green tends to help.
Judge grew up a Giants fan, having watched Barry Bonds break records almost every time. Growing up in Northern California, he has a chance to go home, as San Francisco definitely frames him.
But Yankees is the best baseball brand. Not only will Judge stand a better chance at the World Championships in New York – the brand’s opportunities are enormous. Leaving all of that behind would be a bold choice.
At Pinstripes, he’s the face of baseball. In San Francisco, he is the face of one franchise.
