Morocco and Spain face each other in the World Cup Round of 16 on Tuesday (December 6th) at the Education City Stadium in Al-Rayyan, Qatar. Here’s how to watch.
Morocco and Spain compete on Tuesday in the World Cup with a spot in the quarter-finals at stake.
Morocco, surprise winners of Group F after beating Canada 2-1, faces a formidable Spain, who have been underperforming in this tournament. Spain finished second in Group E after losing 2-1 to Japan.
The African team is led by right-back Ashraf Hakimi and his colleague Naseer Mazraoui on the other wing. They love to put the balls into their opponents’ box as they look to exploit defensive lapses.
The match seems to be in favor of Spain, but Morocco has played very well in Qatar over the past two weeks. Topping the group was a historic achievement. It is only the second time in their history that the Atlas Lions have advanced to the round of 16.
But Spain, last year’s European Championship semi-finalists, is full of young talent, led by Barcelona midfielders Pedri and Javi. Spain also lacks experience, which their opponents took advantage of during the group stage.
While they continue to maintain possession for long periods of time, Spain have struggled to create the scoring opportunities that would enable them to win matches.
