warning! The following could contain spoilers for The white lotus episode “Kidnapping”. Read at your own risk!
white lotus Season 2 is full of mysteries, and even though “The Abductions” crossed the halfway mark, we still don’t have many answers. Fans are working through several theories, such as Who are the corpses? Which Daphne first saw and What’s going on with Quentin and Tanya?. Recently I’ve been talking about a new theory involving my dad, Lucia, and that mysterious guy Alessio, and I think I know where the situation is headed.
Lucia tells Albi that Alessio is basically her pimp, but I’ve been suspicious of him for a while. It turns out I’m not the only one watching white lotus Who thinks Lucia is lying. On that note, let’s find out who Alessio really might be and why this situation could turn out so badly for everyone involved.
It is possible that Alessio was Lucia’s brother or some other family member
Alessio and Lucia’s relationship seems like the usual way Hollywood portrays the role of pimp/prostitutes, but there are a few key differences that I see. While we saw Alessio dragging Lucia’s arm, I think we didn’t see him act in a truly violent way. Plus, Lucia didn’t seem afraid to go with Alessio in the last episode when he pursued her De Grasso family on their journey and did not show any signs when she arrived at the Albi Hotel later that night. Maybe Alessio wasn’t a pimp at all.
What I and the others think is that Alessio is Lucia’s cousin or brother. sticker on a Reddit topic She noted that Lucia mentioned that the employee she spoke to at the hotel was a friend of her brother, which could be a clue to Alessio’s identity. And while brothers in real life might not keep track of their sisters’ every move and try to drag them home to keep them out of trouble, this is definitely another trope.
Why would Lucia lie to Albie?
While I want to believe that Lucia has real feelings for Albie and wants a real relationship with him, I can’t help but remember what his grandfather Bert de Grasso said when they were having lunch. When Albie discusses the fact that Lucia was a exploiter and might not even want to be an escort, Bert tells his grandson that not all women are saints. Albie kicked him out and went on his way, convinced he was helping Lucia and that things were different with him. He wants to think Lucia is trapped in her situation, but is that on purpose?
white lotus Viewers may note that while Lucia confides in Albi about her situation with Alessio and needs money to offer him, she has not done so with her other clients. Lucia also seems to be a very independent and bold woman in most situations outside of her times with Albie, so I wondered if she was purposely conning him into securing some big wages from a kid he thought was “rescuing” a woman caught in a bad situation.
I cannot tell whether or not Alessio was a willing participant in this scheme. He probably has no idea what Lucia said to Abi, and since Albi doesn’t speak Italian he has to rely on what Lucia can tell him about the situation. Essentially, Lucia can tell Albee whatever she wants to hear and probably make more money than other characters on the show have made in the process.
How terribly wrong this could be for everyone involved
The only thing Lucia might not think of is that Dominic, Bert and Albie all saw what happened with Alessio and thought he was a dangerous man. If Alessio appeared again in the future, it was very likely that someone would step up and do something that could cause Alessio to be seriously injured or even killed. That’s why I think Alessio is one of the bodies in the ocean, and it’s all part of a great karmic justice for Lucia.
If Lucia plays the slightly naive Albie, my love white lotus He may be upset. As such, having everything blow up in her face if she accidentally kills her brother/family member would be just too much confectionery and possibly a horrific scarring event for dad. Honestly, it sounds pretty brutal, and I really hope it doesn’t happen, but it seems like a worthy development Award winning series. While I was looking forward to a happy ending, I don’t count on it based on how things turned out for the characters in the first season.
white lotus Airs on HBO Sundays at 9:00 PM ET simulcast for anyone with a domain HBO Max subscription. There aren’t many episodes left in Season 2, so now might be a good time to go back and Rewatch previous episodes for possible clues about what’s to come.
