Junji Ito’s Headless Staff

The official Netflix Anime Twitter account shared a fresh look at the upcoming anthology series hitting the streaming service on January 19th, with a focus on this new skin-crawling avatar featuring all of its cast. They are missing an important part of their body:

Maniac isn’t the only adaptation of Junji Ito currently being worked on, as Toonami continues to work on the highly anticipated series, Uzumaki. Unlike the upcoming Netflix series, Uzumaki Not quite an anthology as it focuses on a single story that takes place in a remote mountain town, although, rest assured, the scares that occur in this spooky tale are quick and repetitive as Ito decides to fuse the spine-tingling mania with spirals into the story. While Uzumaki Delayed several times due to the coronavirus pandemic, the anime that was released has fans more than happy to wait as many agree it did the impossible in capturing Ito’s dynamic style.
