Buddy Pemblitt’s scoring victory by decision over Jared Gordon at UFC 282 led to many crying robberies
Buddy Pemblitt said his fight with Jared Gordon at UFC 282 wasn’t close, but you’ll find few people willing to agree. Pimblett scored a controversial decision win in the co-main event of the evening.
Pemblett is now 4-0 in the Octagon.
Arguably Paddy Pemblitt got an undeserved victory over Jared Gordon in the co-title match at UFC 282
Pemblett made a strong jab at the start, but Gordon backed up Pemblett with two hooks to the chin in the first minute of the fight. Gordon appeared to be the more aggressive fighter at this point, hitting Pemblett again with another shot to the chin just after the two minute mark.
The two traded blows late in the round, trading combinations one after the other, the right hand seeming to fumble with Gordon briefly before the two traded. Gordon made a late finishing attempt by Pemblett and finished the first round on top.
The strike trade continued into the second round, with Gordon being the more aggressive fighter. Gordon entered a takedown, only for Pemblett to threaten an extraordinary choke before Gordon made his way to his feet. Pemblett returned his jab, only for Gordon to pin him against the wall of the cage. Pemblett came out winning with about 40 seconds left in the round, and the two traded until the end of the round.
Gordon went for another takedown early in the third round, and Pemblett was struggling to get out of Gordon’s hold. A little clinch work happened until Gordon landed on top with about 45 seconds left. However, Pemblett walked over and got the fight back on his feet and quickly got back on Gordon’s back, where the fight ended.
