Pope Francis Duke’s “The Letter” premieres on EarthxTV in the UK, Ireland

The original YouTube document, The Mission: A Message for Our Earth, a call to action for climate change from Pope Francis, will be shown in the UK and Ireland on the EarthxTV environmental and sustainability channel.

The film is inspired by Pope Francis’ “Laudato Si,” a 42,000-word speech in which Pope Francis called on the people of the world to take “swift and united global action” against global warming. It showcases personal experiences of the poor, indigenous people, youth and wildlife, whose daily lives have been severely affected by global warming. It also traces the travels of four people from Senegal, the Amazon, India and Hawaii, who bring new perspectives, findings and solutions to environmental challenges. The film aims to raise public awareness of the planetary crisis and create a global movement.

The doc was directed by Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Nicholas Brown (“The Serengeti Rules”) and produced by Off The Fence, the company behind the Oscar-winning doc “My Octopus Teacher,” along with the Laudato si movement, an international Catholic Climate Change Organization.

“We are proud to collaborate with the Laudato Si movement,” the Vatican and Off The Fence and have the opportunity to bring “The Message” to our viewers in the UK and Ireland, said Dan Russell, CEO of EarthxTV. The Mission aligns with EarthxTV’s broader mission to drive collective change by highlighting the stories and initiatives of innovators and visionaries. Similar to “The Letter”, EarthxTV aims to motivate audiences to address the problems facing our planet. ”

The Message: A Message to Our Earth will be broadcast on EarthxTV on December 27-29, 2022 and January 1, 2023 in the UK and Ireland on Freeview Channel 70 and Sky HD Channel 180.
