Dimension 20 She shocked her fanbase with last night’s episode. [Spoilers follow for Dimension 20: Neverafter Episode 3.] latest episode of Dimension 20 It ended with TPK, marking the first time the show’s entire crew had been killed in a single encounter. The episode featured a multi-hour combat showdown between a group of Level 1 fictional characters fighting against the Fairy Godmother from the famous Cinderella story and her army of mutated semi-inanimate objects. The party’s goal is to retrieve a piece of Cinderella’s glass slipper from the Fairy’s chest, which can be used to power a mysterious magical book kept by one of the party’s members, Mother Timothy Goss. The magical book seemed to be the key to reversing the many tragedies that befell the party and the world of Neverafter, though the exact nature of its magic remains unclear. While the party manages to retrieve the sliver from the fairy’s chest, the group is soon overwhelmed by fairy constructs and either killed instantly or crushed to death.
While the party has suffered from TPK, which is rare in high level broadcasts, it seems likely that characters will return in some form. Brennan Lee Mulligan, Dimension 20 It seems the DM, is building this encounter on purpose with TPK in mind. The huge disparity in numbers made combat victory impossible, with the fact that the mounts and fairy did not die when the glass shard was removed also indicating that the party had stumbled into a deadly situation. As each character died, they seemed to have some kind of interaction or idea about the nature of the world or their past, which seemed to indicate that their stories in the game were far from over.
Brennan Lee Mulligan also asked cast members to make Charisma saving throws for an unknown reason, handing out red glass beads to each party member if they failed. Mulligan did not explain the purpose of these beads, but they could have some effect as to what state the characters return to.
We’ll have to wait a week to see if players have to make new characters Dimension 20 It introduces a kind of new wrinkle to this deadly and terrifying fairy tale season.
