Matt Reeves has a funny reaction to the latest James Gunn Debunk rumor

Batman It remains in continuity for the foreseeable future. Earlier this week, a trade report indicated that a popular Matt Reeves photo was considered a centerpiece in the DC Universe. James Gunn, DC Studios’ new president, was quick to debunk the report, saying Batman It will remain in continuity while he, Peter Safran, and a host of other filmmakers develop the franchise. Now, Reeves himself has commented on the matter in a funny way.

“The source I really like about this is Mr. James Gunn,” the director tweeted while sharing Gunn’s “exposing” tweet.

Will there be a Batman in the DCU?

Given Batman Beloved by critics and audiences alike, the franchise will likely continue to be developed as its own thing for quite some time. As long as the franchise is in circulation, it seems unlikely that Bruce Wayne will be involved in the DCU given David Zaslav’s reluctance to make multiple iterations of one character.

“I think that over the next few years, you will see a lot of growth and opportunities around DC, there won’t be four Batmans,” Zaslav told RBC Capital Markets Kutgun Maral (via Hollywood Reporter). “And so part of our strategy is to get the hell out of DC, which James and Peter will do. I think they’ve wowed audiences. I think they’re going to get you excited over a period of time.”

When will DC Studios announce its plans?

Since Gunn and Safran launched the studio earlier this month, the filmmakers said they hope to announce the first installment of their plans within the next couple of months.

“We’re honored to be the overseers of the DC characters we’ve loved since we were kids,” John and Safran added in a joint statement first announcing their hiring. “We look forward to collaborating with the world’s most talented writers, directors, and actors to create an integrated, multi-layered universe that still allows for individual expression by the artists involved. Our commitment to Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Harley Quinn, and the rest of DC’s characters is only equaled by our commitment to the wonders of human possibility that these characters represent. We are excited to revitalize the theatrical experience around the world as we tell some of the biggest, most beautiful, most amazing stories of all time.”
