Gunpowder & Sky’s HBO Max original documentary “Call Me Miss Cleo” is set to premiere December 15th on streaming. The documentary chronicles the rise and fall of controversial TV psychologist Miss Cleo, who was prominent in the 1990s, and features testimonials from close acquaintances such as actresses Raven Simone and Debra Wilson.
Born as Yuri Dale Harris, Miss Cleo developed a nationwide cult following through the Psychic Readers Network hotline, which was later criticized for deceptive practices. The film explores Miss Cleo’s time in the spotlight before she suddenly disappeared from the public consciousness entirely.
Jennifer Brea and Celia Aniskovic directed the documentary, and Joanna Zwickl and Aniskovic served as producers. Van Toffler, Floris Bauer, Barry Barclay, and Ann Lauder serve as executive producers. HBO Max’s executive producers are Jennifer O’Connell and Lizzie Fox.
