The paternity settlement agreement between Tristan Thompson and Marali Nichols was reportedly filed in Los Angeles court on Friday. As part of the terms, the NBA champion will be required to pay the mother of his child $9,500 in child support per month, per ET. Thompson will also cover costs when it comes to some of Nickels’ legal expenses. Apparently, the Nichols will also have custody of their child, 1-year-old son Theo, and no visitation schedule has been set as of this writing.
Most would probably agree that this is a huge amount of money that the 31-year-old professional athlete will have to shell out. While his baby mom hasn’t publicly commented on the legal agreement, one would think she’d be glad things were finally settled. That’s because earlier this year, she shared some candid thoughts about the apparent lack of support her son has received from his famous father.
Marali Nichols called Tristan Thompson in February, claiming he “did nothing to support their son” and “provided no financial assistance”. She also asserted that at that time, he “made any attempt to meet their son”. These feelings came soon after Thompson himself wrote a letter About paternity test detection. The star said he takes “full responsibility” and is looking forward to “raising our son amicably.”
