A bloody thousand-year war shows why Ichigo’s mom is a monster: Watch

Bleach is back with a new episode, and of course, all eyes were trained on the Kurosaki family this week. The update came after the anime promised to explore the secrets behind Ichigo’s birth. After all, his parents kept a lot from the boy, and Masaki asked more questions than anyone in the family. So this week, Bleach came out with a flashback to explain why Ichigo’s mother was such a monster.

It all fell today when Everything But the Rain was released. Ichigo is freed when he returns to his family’s home in Karakura Town before his flashback begins. There were fans who watched as the young Isshin made his first stint in the city years ago, and it was there that he ran into a very powerful hollow.

With Aizen pulling the strings as always, Isshin fought hard against his opponent, but the Hollow proved to be a challenge. However, the captain got help from a young woman of all places. Masaki chooses to intervene in the battle, and we’ll see Quincy’s powers in action.

Not only does Masaki appear to be a skilled marksman but she is brave enough to face a mistake. When she fails to land an arrow on the hollow, she decides to feed the beast. Masaki goes so far as to let Hollow bite her shoulder only so she can blast him in the head with a blank arrow. And as you can imagine, Masaki’s bravery is what interests Isshin.

It’s clear that Ichigo got his battle sense from both parents, and Bleach proved that Masaki contributed just as much as her husband. Quincy is light on her feet, and when it comes to fighting, she doesn’t hold back. Ichigo is probably more like his mother than we’ve ever known, and we can thank the anime for teaching us all this valuable lesson.
