3 players the Steelers fell short of in 2022, and one of them helped out hugely

The Pittsburgh Steelers are in real danger of putting up their first under . 500 season in nearly 20 years. It’s mostly because a few players didn’t get the payment they deserved.

It’s been a rough season for the Pittsburgh Steelers. They have a rookie quarterback who ended up getting injured. Their team has some crazy talent, but it just doesn’t quite come together. Something is off. They are fourth from the bottom of the league in total touchdowns. Despite a good offensive line and talent in all positions, the offense just didn’t click. This resulted in one of the worst teams in the league, under 18 points per game.

The Steelers left the Ravens, Browns, and Raiders in the schedule. They need to win all three games just to get past . 500, and playoffs are basically out of the question. The Steelers play for pride, and they have to get their stars to step up. They haven’t done it right by their stars this season. This may be as close to a rebuilding year as the Steelers will have, but for now they can find solace in knowing their stars can do better when they are put in the right position.

1. Naji Harris – Running Back

This was supposed to be the breakout year for Naji Harris. He’s in his second season after a relatively decent rookie year. He rushed for 1,200 yards and seven touchdowns with 463 passing yards and three additional touchdowns. This season, Harris has 790 yards rushing and 190 yards receiving. The Steelers have 14 rushing touchdowns this season. Only six from Harris.

The Steelers didn’t treat Harris like their bell star. He has never broken 100 yards in a game this season. He did that three times last season. Harris was disastrous in the Steelers’ playoff game last season, and coach Mike Tomlin may have lost faith in his return.

It’s not like Harris is making big mistakes. He’s only missed one bump this season. It’s not all on the Steelers. Harris has only one 20-plus-yard play this season. This wasn’t his year, but the Steelers had to do a better job opening holes for Harris, but he had to do a better job finding them.
