Season 1 of AMC’s Interview with the Vampire ended on a shocking note when it was revealed that not only was Rasheed (Assaad Zaman) the vampire Armand, but Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian) had encountered before, back in the ’70s when he first met Louis (Jacob Anderson). It was a development that called into question almost everything about the story as presented by Lewis, and according to series producer Adam O’Byrne, season 2 of the series will look more into matters involving Daniel and Armand – as well as the real reason Daniel was brought to Dubai.
“Why Armand does what he does and the dynamics between them — meaning Louis and Armand and then also, frankly, Armand and Molloy — are things that will be explored intensely in season two,” O’Byrne told The Canadian Press. (Through Toronto star).
The idea that the story from here will explore more is one Zaman himself had raised earlier in his talk ComicBook.comtells us that there will be a “whole new dynamic” for the characters and that many key questions will be answered.
“That’s a really good question,” Zaman said when asked how Armand really feels about Daniel. “It is. I mean, look, we know that part of the story, that part of the way Rollin built our retelling Interview with the vampire Is that this is new to all of us. This sets up a whole new dynamic since we know how Armand and Daniel met in the books. And that makes that initial interview something that would be very, very cool to revisit, and I think would answer a lot of those questions. That’s kind of all I can really say.”
What viewers can expect from the second season of… Interview with the vampire?
Showrunner Rollin Jones said, “I can tell you two things. The challenge is that in the second half of the book, there is less plot than in the first half of the book and there is a lot more internal dialogue.” AMC Blog. “There are long scenes of people having arguments. What we find really cool about it is that even though it doesn’t give you a wealth of plot, what it does have are really big emotional underpinnings. There are big plot moments that we kind of hold onto, but there are these emotional moments.” Also within our plot which might be a little different than what’s in the book. I feel really excited about it.”
He continued, “We’re going to Europe and the second part of the novel is episode 1 of season 2. So, we’ll go there and we’ll experience that. Then we’ll go to Paris. We’ll go to Paris. We’ll see what a harmonious life is all about, and we’ll have some more time than the movie or even The writers. We’re continuing to make the interview a part of this and it’s just as important as the flashback, as there are some very active things that are going to happen in Dubai. Then, more than anything else, and we mentioned it a little bit in Season 1, the idea of memory and what’s real and what’s He’s not real. He’s a big player in Season 2. It’s all about who I am? How did I get here? What’s going to become of me now? There’s a lot!”
