We also get to know some new characters like Riri Williams / Iron Heart (Dominique Thorne) and Namor (Tenoch Huerta) as the main antagonist of the films. The movie ends in a way that could establish several different stories for the future of Wakanda and Black Panther, but there has been no announcement of a third movie. Ryan Coogler hasn’t said anything about doing a third movie as he develops a Wakanda series for Disney+, but the director is now hinting at future Wakanda stories in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. During a recent interview with The New York TimesCoogler revealed that he would like to continue writing these stories.
“I feel lucky to have the chance to work on these movies, bro. When I was asked to do the first one, it was like a moving train,” Coogler said. “I thank God every day that I was able to jump on it and get to know these people, these actors, and meet Chadwick during some of the last years of his life. I’ll do it as long as people will bring me up. But I think he’s bigger than just me or Joe. Between the first movie and the second, we made $2 billion at the box office, which is what companies care about most. So I hope that continues, man. I hope people continue making movies about Wakanda long after we’re gone.”
The studio revealed its plans for the next three years, with two new ones The Avengers Movies are announced. The Avengers: Kang Dynasty And the Avengers: Secret Wars Both will make their way to cinemas in 2025. The only thing not announced on the slate is the third Black Panther movie. Although the fans are guaranteed to get a third Black Panther film, Marvel producer Nate Moore revealed during a recent interview that the studio and Ryan Coogler would like to see fan response to the long-awaited sequel before agreeing to do a third film in the franchise.
“That’s a great question. Honestly, it’s not me trying not to answer the question,” said Moore. “We really want to see how audiences receive the movie, and I think Ryan is really interested in seeing how the movie plays out before we decide. There are definitely ideas that we’ve thrown around about what a third movie could be if we can make it happen. But until the movie comes out, we’re pretty superstitious.” A little bit that way. We don’t want to count our chickens, because you never know what’s going to happen.”
