LadBaby Christmas Update #1 is a surprise for fans of Last Christmas | music | entertainment

The number one Christmas song of 2022 will be announced later today, Friday, December 23rd. The reveal will begin at 4pm during the BBC Radio 1 Official Chart Show with Jack Saunders. The track list will be announced in descending order, so the first official number may not be revealed until 5 p.m. However, there appears to be only one potential winner this year.

The latest odds from leading bookmakers Ladbrokes have now given LadBaby an incredible 1/10 chance of capturing No. 1 this Christmas.

This is by far the best YouTube sensation Opportunity has looked like all year and could bring them a fifth in a row. This would also become a new world record, as LadBaby would be the only artist to have five consecutive Christmas singles in a row.

The group’s song is titled Food Aid, a parody of Band Aid’s Do They Know It’s Christmas? Track from 1984.

The song’s music video features Martin Lewis singing alongside celebrity impersonators who take on the personas of Paul McCartney, Adele, and Ed Sheeran.

Just like LadBaby’s four previous No. 1 songs, profits from it will be donated to the Trussell Trust – a charity that funds food banks in the UK.

“Things seemed to be going south for LadBaby earlier this week, but a fifth consecutive top-flight finish now seems entirely on the cards,” said Alex Abbate of Ladbrokes.

Earlier this week, LadBaby looked as if they were about to lose out to a number of major competitors.

In an unexpected twist of fate, the Sidemen are currently in second place in the race to clinch the Christmas number one. Another YouTube group, Sidemen consisting of KSI, Miniminter, Zerkaa, TBJZL and more, plus a feature from JME.

The Sidemen and their track team, Christmas Drillings, are currently 6/1 in to grab the lead this afternoon. They, too, will donate the profits to a charity: Fareshare.

What’s more, earlier this week 3,000 exclusive physical copies of the track were released on HMV for £3.99, which sold out “within hours”.

If YouTube music collections aren’t your thing, then Wham! They are still in the top five Christmas number one winners.

George Michael’s legendary song, Last Christmas, currently has a meager 1/2 to become the Christmas number one of 2022

They are joined by The Pogues’ Fairy Tale of New York, which contains an unconfirmed 18/1.
