Announcing the podcast accompanying HBO’s The Last of Us with Creator and Star series

A podcast about HBO The last of us He’s on the way. We’re just a few weeks away from the arrival of the HBO adaptation The last of us, something that has been in the works in one form or another for a very long time. After the massive success of Naughty Dog’s PS3 games, Hollywood started to smell money and wanted a piece of that pie. PlayStation has begun working with producers to get the film off the ground, particularly with Sam Raimi attached to help bring it to life. Unfortunately, that never happened, but PlayStation struck a deal with HBO to adapt it into a series.

With the TV series set to be one of HBO’s biggest shows in 2023, the network is pitching it. In addition to the series, HBO will produce A companion podcast where series creator Neil Druckmann, showrunner Craig Mazin, and actor Troy Baker break down each episode scene-by-scene. Baker has played Joel in the video games and will play a new unannounced character in the HBO series. As of now, it’s not clear if the podcast will feature guest stars like Pedro Pascal to help tune in on certain things. It’s also unclear when this will be released, but it seems likely that it will be released on a weekly basis along with each episode. If that’s the case, you can probably expect the podcast to launch on various services on Sunday, January 15th, or the day after Monday, January 16th.

Of course, the show is adapting a game and based on the trailers, is doing so quite honestly. With that said, it seems likely that the podcast will focus heavily on telling how they brought to life key moments from the game, why they changed things they did from the game for the show, etc. Either way, we’ll likely get more concrete details about the podcast in the coming weeks.

The last of us Premieres on HBO January 15, 2022. Excited for the series? Let me know in the comments or hit me up on @Cade_Onder Twitter.
