Tony Khan recently appeared on Grapsody podcast And he was asked to respond to one of the most common criticisms about his booking – why aren’t some fan favorites constantly booked on TV? Names that appear most often include Eddie Kingston and Mero, with the latter only wrestling four times in 2022 and not been seen since. Everyone out Pay per view. Khan explained, “You have people who are going to be the focus week to week. Eddie is a big part of tonight’s show, we’re going to see Eddie on ‘Rampage’ tonight. There are dozens of wrestlers who have appeared on ‘Dynamite’ and ‘Rampage’ every week, and throughout those three hours you see A lot of names, but there are a lot of names you don’t see in AEW every week, and sometimes they’re just silent about it, and sometimes there’s a reason: someone’s injured, someone’s working on another project, someone’s getting repackaged, or honestly there’s no Enough digits in three hours.
He continued by comparing the situation with the NFL – “It’s not really common in the NFL for a backup quarterback to complain to a coach that he’s not playing. It’s not common in the NBA for a backup point guard to insult a coach because he’s not getting on minutes.”
“I take it with a smile, and I will keep smiling with a smile,” Khan added while drawing criticism from inside the dressing room. “It’s okay. I understand that everyone wants to wrestle and wants to do things.”
