Finn Jones hopes to return as the immortal Iron Fist, in part because he loves the character he’s had a few years playing – and in part because he wants to prove himself to those who have questioned his performance. In a recent interview with GeekscapeJones said he’d love to step into Danny Rand’s shoes again, especially now that other DefendersVerse have returned to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
“Of course I would! I would love another chance… I care [Danny Rand] severely. I believe in that character, and I think there’s a lot more work that can be done,” Rand told the social outlet (via direct). “There’s just something about an underdog. I love the underdog narrative. I love being able to prove someone wrong. And I want to prove all of those.” [doubters] Error. I know I have it in me, I know I can deliver the Danny Rand performance the fans want and I know it’s possible.”
Will there be a file Heroes for Hire a series?
When we spoke to the actor earlier this year, he expressed his desire to return to Rand in a Heroes for Hire series where he teamed up with Mike Colter’s Luke Cage.
“I’d love to continue playing this character,” Jones said at the time. “I think there’s a lot of room for growth. Personally, where I’d like to see the character reintroduced would be something like the Heroes for Hire TV series.” . “I think that would be the most dynamic and fun way to reintroduce those characters. I loved working with Mike and I loved the on-screen chemistry between Danny and Luke. I think it’s a really interesting creative place to watch the show in. I’d love to take up that mantle again and keep going.” In pushing this character forward and making the best Iron Fist possible.”
Will Iron Fist or Luke Cage return?
So far, the only confirmed DefendersVerse returnees are Cox and D’Onofrio. Over the summer, speculation began to run rampant that Kristen Ritter or Jon Bernthal could return as Jessica Jones and Frank Castle/The Punisher, respectively, but nothing has been seriously reported by trades or confirmed by Marvel Studios.
