DCU Fan Art imagines David Corenswet as Superman in the James Gunn movie

Warner Bros. Discovery is having a difficult time correcting course for their DC Studios projects, and we recently announced that James Gunn and Peter Safran will take the reins as co-CEOs of the newly minted company. Jan and Safran have worked hard developing a slate to give DC Studios a rebirth, and that means they’ll be making some major changes. Gunn recently revealed that he’s writing a movie about Superman that will focus on a younger version of the character and not star Henry Cavill. His superhero movie will follow a young Clark Kent coming to Metropolis for the first time, but it won’t be an origin story. Cavill released a statement about his recent exit from the role and is speaking with co-CEOs about being another in-universe character. Since Gunn is looking for a younger man in Man of Steel, fans have some ideas as to who could play the role. One fan even created a design showing how David Corenswet (We own this cityAnd the politician).

An Instagram artist with handle @Jscomicart has created a new design that shows what the actor could look like as the Man of Steel. In fan art, Corenswet wears a Superman costume inspired by Max Fleischer’s original comic book design for the Last Son of Krypton. Gunn has yet to announce his movie selection, but that should hold fans off until the official announcement. You can check out Superman fan art below!

Jan and Safran started their jobs as co-CEOs at DC Studios last month and it’s safe to say DC’s future looks bright. When the duo was announced by the head of Warner Bros. New Discovery, they released a statement about their excitement for the job.

“We are honored to be the stewards of the DC characters we have come to love since we were kids,” John and Safran added in a joint statement. “We look forward to collaborating with the world’s most talented writers, directors, and actors to create an integrated, multi-layered universe that still allows for individual expression by the artists involved. Our commitment to Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Harley Quinn, and the rest of DC’s characters is only equaled by our commitment to the wonders of human possibility that these characters represent. We are excited to revitalize the theatrical experience around the world as we tell some of the biggest, most beautiful, most amazing stories of all time.”
