The Philadelphia Phillies ranked the four biggest tackles he made in the offseason.

The defending National League Champion Philadelphia Phillies won’t be content with one trip to the World Series and a loss. They had one of the best seasons in Major League Baseball. The moves they’ve made are undoubtedly positive for the 2023 season and beyond.

The team could still use a few more improvements before Opening Day arrives. Another spin arm will make fans feel so much better.

The four biggest moves they made were essential. How do they scale?

1) The Phillies deserve high praise for signing Trea Turner

There may not be a better fit in this year’s free agency class than Trea Turner and the Phillies. It gives them a much needed boost at shortstop. After a year of seeing Kyle Schwarber as the lead hitter, Turner could help give them more of a natural fit to put them at the top of the lineup.

Turner was probably the guy fans wanted to see Phillies sign the most. They didn’t wait long. He was the first to agree to a deal.

Shortstop has been a mostly vacant position in Philadelphia in recent years. Unusual occasions in a position like Scott Kingery or players past their prime like Didi Gregorius.

The story has changed for the 2023 season and beyond. This sign is worth a lot of Fat A’s. The only negative might be the amount of years. The 11-year, $300 million deal is going to get as bad as any long-term contract. We will worry about that in the future. Phyllis fans are excited to win right now.
