As Marvel’s Phase Four approaches, and a new slate of characters begins Upcoming Marvel movies Ready to arrive in 2023, we know the anticipated “Big Bad” for this new period of storytelling – dubbed the Multiverse Saga – will be Kang the Conqueror, played by Jonathan Majors. A different kind of character was introduced in the first season of Lokibut the actions of Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and more importantly, Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino), will lead to the arrival of the Kang we saw in the Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania Movie trailer…and it looks more badass. However, knowing that Marvel also plans to bring The Fantastic Four into the fold in 2025, fans assumed their legendary nemesis Doctor Doom would follow – and one fan went ahead and imagined him being played by Adam Driver.
Even casual Marvel fans should be familiar with Doctor Doom, as the character was the main villain in both previous on-screen iterations of the Fantastic Four. Victor von Doom, in versions of the story told on screen, accompanies Reed Richards and the rest of the four on their manned space mission that encounters cosmic rays. The rays have different effects on each member of the team, turning them into Mister Fantastic, The Invisible Woman, The Human Torch, and The Thing. Meanwhile, Doom is horribly disfigured by the accident, and he vows revenge on his friend and once rival, Red.
Previous films have struggled to get Doctor Doom right. Toby Kebbell, who played Doom in the ill-fated Josh Trank movie, has a lot of opinions on why that is. His version of the character didn’t work out. But the casting wasn’t really the issue, as both Kebbell and Julian McMahon (from the Tim Story movies) are decent actors. Heck, McMahon He says he wants to play the character again.
However, adding talent like Adam Driver could take things to the next level, and we can totally understand why Marvel Studios considered Driver for the role. For one thing, he’s already in the Disney family, having played Kylo Ren in the three old Skywalker sequels the studio has released. Perhaps some people will find it lazy to cast the Driver as another high-ranking villain. But Doctor Doom won’t have the same kind of redemption arc that was written for Kylo Ren, so Driver will have a lot more (and different) material to work with. And similar to Star Wars, he probably has an excellent cast to play with, because Marvel should cast SOMEONE as the Fantastic Four, finally putting all the persistent rumors to bed.
the Instagram photos The above is great, and basically uses Kylo Ren as his inspiration. Can Marvel Studios stay this way, and bring Adam Driver into the MCU as a futuristic villain who’s ready to make life terrible for Marvel’s heroes? Time will tell, and Kevin Feige.
