Glass Onion: Takes the mystery out of the cutlery It was more than expected Upcoming movies Since it was a sequel Announced in 2020. Everyone wanted to know how Daniel Craig’s Benoit Blanc could outdo himself after the first film; meThis was an interesting trip.
I had a lot Ideas as re-watched Take out the knives, including a new appreciation for the film’s cinematography. Rewatching it made me really excited to see the sequel. Now that it’s premiering on Netflix, I have a few ideas. Let’s dive into it.
Warning Glass Onion: Takes the mystery out of the cutlery Spoilers ahead. Proceed with caution.
The beginning of the onion glass heralds its end
I’m a sucker for movies that make a strong reference to the ending at the beginning. Glass Onion: Takes the mystery out of the cutlery He doesn’t do it directly, but he does so subtly with a clue box approach and iconography Between us Scene.
In the beginning, we see everyone working hard to solve this intense puzzle, but it’s really not that powerful and a waste of time, especially since it only leads to a simple invitation. The actual puzzles are pretty simple if you know toys, Benoit points out. This is also a direct reference to the offender who is clearly in front of your face.
The mysteries are just a distraction from what’s out there: Call and Miles (Edward Norton) is the killer. It also shows Miles’ lack of creativity and intelligence. He has someone else make the puzzle box and also uses already known puzzles. There is nothing innovative coming from this invitation puzzle box.
We also see Helen (Janelle Monáe) crash the game to get the invite. This seems like a nod to her being the real troublemaker (once the most sensible decision was made) and a direct call to her when she finally destroys Miles’ house and the Mona Lisa.
Benoit plays Between us It also seems like a reference to Helen pretending to be her sister, and even one to Miles, who isn’t the real genius who portrays himself to the world. He is the real scammer.
The irony of describing themselves as “creators”
It’s always fun when the rich and privileged lack self-awareness. Disruptors fall into this category. Not only do they not disrupt anything, but instead they help maintain the status quo. They help feed the system and keep a certain group of people at the top.
You really can’t disrupt what you help build and sustain prosperity. They live in their rich little bubbles and keep it up by adding to the system that helps them stay rich.
We all know he’s Edward Norton, right?
glass onion she has Lots of shocking moments, but, in my opinion, Miles being Andy’s killer is not one of them. Just like with Chris Evans in Take out the knivesit seemed very clear when the glass onion ejaculate He declared that Edward Norton would be either the victim or the perpetrator. When he wasn’t the victim, he had to be the perpetrator. The rich, white, middle-aged man behind the crimes appears to be too honest in reality to play in the movie.
Knowing the entry Glass Onion: Takes the mystery out of the cutlery That Norton’s character might have committed the crime did not prevent my enjoyment of it. I still love all of Kabir’s revelations And finally. I just hope knives out 3 I can’t predict who did it just by looking at the cast.
Cameos, Cameos, Cameos, Cameos
at some point, Glass Onion: Takes the mystery out of the cutlery become a game embossing spot. Here’s everything I spotted:
- Ethan Hawke
- Stephen Sondheim
- Natasha Lyonne
- Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
- Serena Williams
- yo yo ma
- Angela Lansbury
There too Sir Joseph Gordon-Levitt cameo that I missed. I also don’t consider Hugh Grant’s appearance in glass onion as a cameo, as he will likely become a part of the franchise as Benoit’s partner.
Let’s also not forget those bookmarks by Jeremy Renner and Jared Leto — the king of kombucha, it seems.
This movie didn’t need to bring in Covid
I just don’t think about setting glass onion During covid times an essential. I get it, it’s used to show how these affluent, self-absorbed, self-involved people see it as a minor inconvenience, rather than a pandemic that destroys lives and kills millions.
I understand the intent, but I think the message gets lost when you treat the movie’s moral compass (Helen and Benoit) kind of casually. Then it is barely mentioned once they reach the island. I’m not one of those people who are against showing Covid in recent movies and TV shows.
Filmmakers don’t need to pretend it doesn’t exist and doesn’t exist. I think it works best narratively when it’s approached in a more thoughtful, introspective way. This still happens and it still destroys lives and kills people, so I personally feel that it still needs to be dealt with in a more sensitive way.
glass onion It’s a comedy, so it couldn’t really kill the mood by taking a serious turn, but personally, I don’t think having it as part of the story really added anything to the movie. It has made the virus and its effects, both individually and globally, seem insignificant.
But I appreciated the gag that spoke so much about all the characters’ personalities and levels of consideration for others.
Benoit Solving Miles’ Crime Mystery Before It Begins is my favorite scene from The Onion Glass
Gillian Flynn has really come up with an excellent murder mystery story. As Benoit says, “Oh, it’s so good,” but it’s not good enough for them not to fool Miles. I’ve never seen anyone deserve a new iPad.
It was a fun scene and it comes into play later when Benoit unleashes all his hatred for Miles. How much he hates Miles was one of the funniest parts glass onion. “No! Just stupid!” It’s really golden.
The scene shows how smart Benoit is, but also how Miles thinks he’s smart but he’s not at all. Not even a little bit. He’s just a good thief.
I can’t decide which set is better: glass onions or cast knives
I think I might prefer a little more Take out the knives cast because they had to do a little more personal work than this cast. However, Edward Norton is one of my favorite actors of all time, so I loved seeing him glass onion. Janelle Monáe really stands out and gave an amazing performance. The movie is really about her and Benoit, who is a captivating heroine.
I also think Norton gives a really great performance as this cartoonish villain. It’s not easy being a narcissistic millionaire.
Both actors really gave life to these movies and made them memorable. The following cast has big shoes to fill.
Other ideas
I have so many ideas running around that I too could solve another puzzle for fun. Here are some others Glass Onion: Takes the mystery out of the cutlery Thoughts:
- I hope after the inevitable knives out 4And the knives out 5 It is all criminals gather to try to eliminate Benoit. I can imagine how funny it would be if Ransom (Chris Evans) and Miles were trying to work together.
- We need more Philip (Hugh Grant) in knives out 3. the Fans already love himso we need to know More about their romance.
- I hope Derol (Noah Segan) is okay. Not in the movie, but in life.
- I can watch a whole series of movies about Edward Norton and Janelle Monáe.
- “It is dangerous to mistake speaking without thinking for telling the truth.” – One of the softest burns we’ve ever heard.
- Fashion is great in glass onion. Another beautifully shot movie.
- As an avid Clue player, I take the slur against him personally.
I can not wait knives out 3 And everything She brings. I can’t wait to see what rich dude Benoit Blanc hits next, and what woman helps him do it.
