Famous American singer Miley Cyrus appeared to pay homage to Argentina and Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez as she uploaded a new picture on social media.
She shared a photo holding a bunch of flowers on Instagram and she appeared to be holding them in the same way that Martinez held his Golden Glove award on stage at the final of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The Villa man caused a stir as he held the trophy in front of his crotch in a suggestive way, which many fans who are not Argentine thought was crude.
He also angered many people by making a doll with French striker Kylian Mbappe‘s face on it, which he took on the bus parade through Buenos Aires when the team returned from the Middle East.
Argentina won the final on penalties after the match ended 3-3 in extra time. Mbappe actually scored three times past Martinez, but was ultimately on the losing side.
On that list of angered people is former footballer Graeme Souness.
“What we should be talking more about is the rude gesture he made after collecting his trophy for best goalkeeper of the tournament,” Souness said of that incident.

Nothing in the caption of Cyrus‘ Instagram post suggested that she was specifically emulating what Martinez had done, but the comments section was full of fans who clearly thought that she was copying the goalkeeper and showing support for how he chose to celebrate his success.
