After the Bad Bunny defends throwing a fan’s phone in the water, the internet is thinking

In just a few short years, Bad Bunny has cemented himself as a major star in the Hollywood world. Since appearing on Cardi B’s “I Like It” in 2018, he has racked up several major accolades including multiple Grammy Awards and has twice been named Spotify’s Most Streamed Artist of the Year. He’s garnered quite a bit of fame, and all eyes were definitely on him when he threw a fan’s phone into the water after they tried to get a selfie with him. Since then, the artist has defended his actions, and the Internet has ideas.

Bad Bunny, whose birth name is Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, was in the Dominican Republic and was walking alongside his group when a fan approached him with her phone. When the young woman tried to take a shot, he grabbed the device and tossed it into a nearby body of water. The footage was taken by someone at the scene and went viral. The performer addressed this issue on TwitterExplaining his reasons for his actions:

A person who comes to me to say something to me, to tell me something, or just to meet me, will always have attention and respect. Those who come to put a bastard’s phone in my face I will think of it for what it is, disrespect and will treat it the same.
