As the NFL world gathered to pray for Hamlin’s devastation, Skip Bayless launched a heartless tweet calling for people to fire him.
Monday Night Football ended in horrific circumstances with the game between the Bills and Bengals suspended after Damar Hamlin was hauled off the field by ambulance and taken to hospital.
Hamlin collapsed after his intervention. He needed CPR on the field while players and coaches from both teams looked visibly shaken.
Fans, the media and the sporting world have largely responded on Twitter by expressing concern and sending well wishes to Hamlin and his family.
As for Skip Bayless, he made a fool of himself with the most soulless tweet of the century.
βNo doubt, the NFL is considering delaying the rest of this gameβbut how? Late in the season, a game of this magnitude is crucial to regular season results…that suddenly seems irrelevant.β
The rest of Twitter came in Bayless’ favor right away.
NFL Twitter called for Skip Bayless to be fired after Damar Hamlin’s tweet
Bayless is a smitten dealer. He makes a living saying flamboyant things and eliciting a reaction from them. So in some ways, this isn’t a surprise.
However, you’d think Baylis would understand that taking a stance on football scenarios was the wrong move. A man’s life hangs in the balance. That’s literally the only thing that matters. Not the playoffs. Not the arrangement. Not week 17.
Forty minutes after the tweet, Bayless didn’t delete the tweet, even though it was quite proportionate. Maybe that says it all.
