Disney rules the worldwide box office thanks to the over-performance of “Avatar: The Way of Water.”

aOn the New Year’s Eve long weekend, the US and Canadian box office, as well as internationally, Once again, Avatar: The Way of Water has been dominated by the new James Cameron which remains virtually unchallenged in theaters.

And Disney came after Universal, which in 2022 brought in $3.9 billion at the box office, $1 billion less than the leading company. Universal earned $1.64 billion at the domestic box office and $2.25 billion internationally.

Among the titles that helped Disney once again crown itself as the box office champ Avatar: Water Way, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Thor: Love and Thunder.
