Iowa is holding onto its spot in the AP Top 25 rankings, sitting in 25th place heading into tonight’s game against unranked Oklahoma.
Iowa won three straight games and will look to improve to 2-0 in Big 12 playoffs, while Oklahoma will seek its first conference win after a heartbreaking 70-69 loss to the Texas Longhorns on New Year’s Eve.
Let’s dive into the odds for tonight’s game, and then I’ll give you the Iowa vs. Oklahoma prediction.
Iowa vs Oklahoma odds, spread and total
Iowa vs. Oklahoma projections and picks
Iowa State is one of those teams where you need to pay close attention whether they are playing at home or on the road.
The Hurricanes’ effective field goal percentage at home is 54.4%, but it drops all the way down to 47.7% on the road. That’s a 6.7% difference, which will play a pivotal role when they take on one of the best shooting teams in the country in Oklahoma.
Oklahoma is sixth in effective field goal percentage, at 57.3%. Almost 10% better than how well they shoot tornadoes on the road.
With this game taking place at Oklahoma’s home stadium, the Sooners are the bet to make.
Iowa also had foul trouble at one point in the season, ranking 299th in errors per possession. That may not pose much of a problem against weaker teams, but it will cost them against Big 12 opponents like Oklahoma.
Even though Iowa has the better record, I’ll put the points up with Oklahoma.
