The Suns lost three in a row after winning their first game without Devin Booker, who suffered a groin injury on Christmas night, and now face the Cavaliers in a historic performance.
Cleveland’s Donovan Mitchell scored an astonishing 71 points in a comeback against the Bulls Monday night and the Cavs are looking to stay with an Eastern Conference elite against a Suns team that is suddenly eighth in a crowded Western Conference.
What will happen on Wednesday night when two teams head in different directions?
First, here are the possibilities:
The Suns vs. Cavaliers win odds, spread and total
Suns vs Cavaliers prediction and selection
The Suns are in a tough spot heading to Cleveland to take on the Cavs without their star guard Booker, who has been excellent on offense this season. Phoenix scores 13.2 points per 100 possessions when on the ground this season, 99 percent among eligible players.
Now, Phoenix must play one of the best defenses in the league at Cleveland, which has been in fifth place in the defensive rankings since December 1st. In addition, the team has two All-Star-caliber guards who can take advantage of the Suns’ 26th-ranked defense in the same time frame.
While Cleveland has Darius Garland at point guard, all attention is on Mitchell after his 71-point burst last time put the Cleveland team back from under 20 points to a home win.
I’d love to keep Cleveland rolling at home against a struggling Suns team, I’ll put the points in.
