Fairy Tail voice actress Aya Hirano discusses death threats

Recently, the popularity of anime has continued to grow worldwide, with series and movies becoming as big in the West as they are in Japan and other countries. The anime itself wouldn’t be what it is without the hard work put in by the voice actors in the middle, however, the cast responsible for Fairy Tail is no exception. Unfortunately, actress Aya Hirano said that she received death threats because of her work on the series.

The update comes from Aya Hirano, one of the top talents in the industry. The actress took to Twitter to share her frustration with a string of death threats recently, and unfortunately, her experience is far from unique to the industry.

“It’s been a while since I’ve shifted my focus to the world of theater, but when I work in animation, I still get death threats and other things I shouldn’t do. Recently, there have been many incidents, and the police have acted without incident. I just want to To set a good example for future generations and help spread it abroad [despite] These fanatics are fanatics.”

“I don’t think it’s very healthy to work when you feel like your life is in danger. Feelings of fear and unwillingness to get involved in the world of anime break my desire to perform well for the fans.”

For those who don’t know Hirano by name, you’ll definitely know her voice. The actress has been working since 1998, and got her big break by voicing Haruhi Suzumiya. She went on to voice characters such as Misa in Death Note as well as Lucy in Fairy Tail. But after 2010, the star turned to live roles on TV and stage. However, Hirano does work in anime with her most recent work being Akiba Maid War.

It is certainly hard to comprehend the harassment Hirano faces, but she is not alone in her suffering. Death threats have been sent to other aid agencies such as Ishikawa Yui and Ito Ayumi because of their work. In the wake of a deadly fan attack on Kyoto Animation, these threats are being taken more seriously than ever, so the police are quick to respond to Hirano’s call. And in an ideal world, other co-pilots shouldn’t be dealing with an attack like this.
