ABC13 Houston 24/7

Houston, Texas (KTRK) – As a precaution, the city of Houston has opened a downstream dam in Lake Houston to help keep the lake at its normal levels after Tuesday’s rain.

This means that neighbors who live downstream must insure their boats and other items if they are near the shoreline.

The forecast expects at least 2″ to 5″ inches of rain within the San Jacinto watershed.

Strong winds in excess of 20 mph are another major threat expected.
