Houston, Texas (KTRK) – Eyewitness News is tracking the movement of a storm front that was likely to cause street flooding and tornado activity in Southeast Texas on Tuesday afternoon.
What precipitated was scene after scene of dangerous driving conditions, partially collapsed buildings, and on one occasion, outdoor fixtures being destroyed by tree branches that looked like projectiles.

Trampoline against tree branches
We were already aware of the possibility of flying extraterrestrials, but the scene captured by Jess Torres could certainly be amazing to the viewer.
Torres’ backyard trampoline is suddenly destroyed by a fallen tree branch in the midst of the oncoming storms.
The footage, which you can see in the video player above, was taken near Wayside and Ley in northeast Houston.
The first signs of impending damage
There were definitely warning signs of what was to come for the people closest to Houston.
True, while ABC13 reporter Derek Lewis spotted the scene late Tuesday morning, the damage to Eagle Lake, which is about an hour and a half west of the city, was very difficult to ignore.
A tree was uprooted in a front yard.
The homeowner, Tony, said he was watching TV in his living room with his wife when he heard a loud noise. That’s when he saw the tree down and noticed that part of it had fallen on the main road on which his house was located.
“When I saw it, I hoped nothing else would fall on top of the house,” Tony said.
At least one other tree is still standing in Tony’s front yard, and he tells us things could have been much worse if either tree had fallen the other way.
