Eagle Lake, TX (KTRK) – ABC13 is tracking any storm damage across Southeast Texas amid a hurricane watch that is expected to continue until 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Our reporter Derrick Lewis was driving along South McCarthy Boulevard in Eagle Lake, about an hour and a half from Houston, when he noticed that a tree had been completely uprooted in front of one of the men’s yard.
The homeowner, Tony, said he was watching TV in his living room with his wife when he heard a loud noise. That’s when he saw the tree down and noticed that part of it had fallen on the main road on which his house was located.
“When I saw it, I hoped nothing else would fall on top of the house,” Tony said.
At least one other tree is still standing in Tony’s front yard, and he tells us things could have been much worse if either tree had fallen the other way.
