Houston storm damage: Severe weather damaged Beamer Place apartments on the southeast side of Bayou City

Houston, Texas (KTRK) – Serious storms destroyed an apartment complex in southeast Houston on Tuesday.

The Beamer Place apartments at 11150 Beamer Road were completely destroyed, forcing the residents to evacuate.

Ceilings, nails and insulation can be seen off the flats covering the parking and car parks.

Cars that were damaged or stuck in the junkyard forced people to look for another source of transportation.

One resident, who moved in Monday, said she’s aware of this kind of loss, but this time, it’s more difficult.

“It brought time back to the memories when I lost everything with Hurricane Harvey,” she said. “I’ve been through this, but it’s not as emotional as it is now.”

She and her granddaughter were left without electricity.

“It took me this long to get over it, and here I am again,” she said.

Houston police collect subway buses to transport residents to shelters run by the Red Cross. The authorities require residents to bring their identification to re-enter their apartments.

People will be picked up at 11111 Beamer Rd. They will be transferred to the BakerRipley Pasadena campus located at 720 Fairmont Parkway.
