Major Avenger’s death confirmed by Kang in Ant-Man Quantumania trailer Movies | entertainment

Next week, Marvel Phase 5 kicks off with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Scott Lang and his family will be brought back to the Quantum Realm once again, as they come face to face with the new big bad Kang the Conqueror on the level of the MCU’s Thanos. A time-traveling tyrant from the future with many variables, his ultimate goal is to rule all ages across the multiverse. However, he is stuck.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania trailers tease Kang offers Scott the Faustian deal. The shrinking superhero lost the five years between Avengers Infinity War and Endgame, due to being trapped in the Quantum Realm for what was about five hours to him. As a result, Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man missed his daughter Cassie growing up, and the time villain he’s now offering in exchange for helping him leave the Microverse.

Now in a new clip, Scott gets to know Kang and discovers that the tyrant killed one of his fellow Avengers.

What we learn in this scene is that Kang has traveled not only through time but also across the multiverse. This explains why he can ask Ant-Man if he has killed him before, i.e. one of his variations. He’s not sure, but considering he brought a hammer it does indicate that the evil Marvel slayed a different kind of Thor, or maybe even Jane Foster The Mighty Thor since she’s currently wielding Mjölnir.

Presumably, the Earth-616 incarnations are still alive after the events of Thor Love and Thunder and will be able to join the fight against the Kang in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars in the next two years.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania hits theaters February 17, 2023.
