Sentencing of Texas A&M University student Max Myers for the 2021 roadside shooting that hit an 11-year-old girl on an SH-99

Harris County, Texas (KTRK) – Texas aOn Wednesday, the M&A student is expected to hear his sentence for a 2021 roadside shooting that injured an 11-year-old girl.

Max Myers is charged with a shooting that occurred when he was a junior in college on March 27, 2021.

The girl was with her family and friends in a truck when Myers fired two shots in the direction of their car from his Ford F150 on Grand Parkway and SH-249, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

The 11-year-old girl was hit in the thigh and abdomen. She had called 911 herself as her father had found a safe place to stop.

The girl underwent surgery while at Memorial Hermann Hospital to remove a bullet and repair damage to her organs.

Prosecutors said Myers confessed to shooting him during his arrest on April 5, 2021.

Myers was charged with grievous bodily injury to a child, a first-degree felony, lethal conduct, and a third-degree felony. ABC13 will notify you of his punishment as soon as it occurs.
