Tamron Hall has been nominated for a NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Informative Talk Show Presenter

Two-time Emmy Award-winning journalist and author Tamron Hall has been nominated for a NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Informative Talk Show Host.

Eyewitness News’ Sandra Buckman sat down with Hall to talk about what the honor means to her.

“Every show matters to me, every detail matters because people matter and our stories matter,” Hall said.

She says this is part of the secret sauce that made her self-titled daytime talk show such a hit.

The show has spanned four seasons with over 500 episodes and counting.

The Emmy Award-winning presenter believes her background as a journalist is the foundation on which the show rests, enabling her to dig deeper, no matter the topic, and give her audience, aka “The Tam Fam,” the conversations they crave.

“We’re merging entertainment and news in a way that I think resonates with people,” Hall said.

Her ability to connect with a nationwide audience was recently recognized with her NAACP Image Award nomination.

It’s something she says she’s grateful for, but she also sees it as an opportunity to inspire others.

“What the other NAACP Image Award nominees and winners stand for, and what they stand for, is the hope that you can do these things,” she said.

Hall admits her confidence and drive, which she shows daily, comes in part from knowing how far she’s come on her own journey.

“My grandfather was born in 1901,” she said. “He was a farmer who couldn’t read and his granddaughter made her living with words. There’s no day I’m going to be under so much pressure.”
