Everything you need to get audio support for your TV setup Whether it’s a great, low-cost 2.1 soundbar, Super Bowl 2023 is the perfect sporting event to showcase the full potential of your soundbar.
The five models listed below are all budget speaker and amplifier packages with an MSRP of less than $349—and right now many models are even more discounted. Each 2.1 speaker package will leave a big impression on your TV viewing; Enhance movies and dramas with plenty of powerful bass power, and bring sporting events to life better than your TV’s built-in speakers.
All models have been rigorously tested for their ability to deliver an enjoyable listening experience with medium-sized TV screens (between 40 and 55 inches), without blowing your wallet.
The bad news? Although it’s packed with an impressive array of features and audio options, none of the models listed have Dolby Atmos support. Having said that, many of the models listed below have special sound simulation modes to create a false surround effect, and are effective at creating an immersive atmosphere with live sports and stadium events — like, say, Super Bowl LVII.
What are the best cheap megaphones for Super Bowl Sunday?
1. Creative Stage v2
The Creative Stage V2 loudspeaker is an amazing value for money, and ranks at the top of our best cheap speakers (Opens in a new tab). In addition to nifty speakers with a relative amount of connectivity, including HDMI ARC and digital optical, the small expense also gets you a dedicated subwoofer to help pump out impactful bass. Well, it may not be a wireless device, but for that kind of money, you really can’t complain.
The sound quality is generally very good, and can be tweaked to match what you’re watching via the supplied remote. For example, you can choose to boost the bass or treble at any time, and there are “Dialogue” and “Surround” to experiment with as well. The latter does not provide digital surround sound In itselfbut expands the sound range for more exciting action scenes.

2. Vizio V-Series 2.1 Home Theater Audio System V21-H8
Vizio has a variety of speaker and subwoofer bundles to choose from, but our continuing favorite is the V-Series 2.1 Home Theater Soundbar V21-H8. The speaker itself has a simple, nondescript design that blends in well with any home theater setup. There are several inputs for connecting other media devices, including TVs, game consoles, and any Alexa, Google Assistant, or Siri smart speakers.
Included with the combo is a high-function remote control to enable playback, volume, and even DTS Virtual:X and DTS TruVolume, helping to produce bigger, more immersive sound. Staying in Standard mode will also reward your ears with crisp sounds and rich mid frequencies.
Bass fanatics may enjoy the low end that comes from the small subwoofer, but those with a keen listener will notice the lack of fidelity and distortion on some songs and the soundtrack.

3. TCL Alto 6 Plus
The Alto 6 Plus is cheaper than the Creative Stage V2 (above), and it even has its own subwoofer—only this one is wireless. It’s powerful too, proving more than capable of filling in action scenes or driving music with deep bass.
The downside is that this low end isn’t as tightly controlled as it is on more expensive amplifiers/subs, and your options for adjusting the sound profile are relatively limited. But we’re still impressed with how solid the Alto 6 Plus sounded in our tests, and its simplicity means home theater novices may actually appreciate how easy it is to complete setup.

4. Yamaha YAS-209
Launched in 2019 and still going strong, the YAS-209 subwoofer aims to offer great features at an affordable price. This premium package comes with a wireless subwoofer to boost the low frequencies and Alexa integration on board. The clever and versatile compact suite brings movie soundtracks to life with rich, powerful sound, and boasts an impressively spacious sound stage when 3D Surround Sound mode is enabled. The movie’s dialogue is easy to understand and has excellent depth and gravitas, and the Yamaha doubles as a great-sounding music system, too.
We only wish there was more than one HDMI port on the back, but even so, the YAS-209 has a lot to love.

5. Polk MagniFi Mini
No soundbar packs huge sound into a small package quite like the Polk MagniFi Mini. This unassuming speaker will fit seamlessly into any setup, delivering clear dialogue and deep bass with the help of the wireless subwoofer that comes with it. Plus, with Google Cast support, the MagniFi Mini doubles as a great home music speaker.
The MagniFi Mini gets loud enough to fill most dorm rooms and small apartments, and we found it reliable for immersing us in movies and TV shows. Throw in an easy-to-use remote control and easy setup process, and you have the best soundbar available for people who are short on space. And at $300, it won’t set you back much, either.
