Johnny Gargano debuts Bluey-Inspired gear

Johnny Gargano showed off some new ring gear at WWE Elimination Chamber on Saturday night, though it deviated slightly from his usual superhero inspirations. Gargano came into the men’s elimination chamber wearing new gear that surprisingly had a blue color scheme. While not as obvious as some of Gargano’s other gear inspirations (which are often pulled from the latest Marvel movies), the sky blue and violet color accents match the beloved Australian cartoon character and have been confirmed by the maker of Gargano gear as seen below. Gargano also wore a feather on his ring, a nod to fan favorite Bluey’s Featherwand ring.

bluish is an Australian television show about a family of talking dogs, two of whom are of school age. While the show has plenty of Australian references, it has caught the attention of a global audience due to its family-friendly stories and the fact that the episodes are as fun for adults as they are for kids. The show is currently streaming on Disney and is available to stream on Disney+.

While Bluey may be an unusual source of inspiration for a WWE wrestler, one needs to remember that Gargano has one year left in the house. Johnny and his wife, Candice Larry, even threw a Bluey-themed birthday party for their son just a few days ago, which was documented on Johnny’s Twitter account. Johnny actually missed his son’s first birthday because he was traveling to Elimination Chamber, but you can check out some pictures of Bluey’s celebrations below:

Unfortunately, Gargano was unable to pick up a win at Elimination Chamber, falling in the men’s Elimination Chamber match after performing a strong and gutsy match. Since Gargano was unable to pick up a victory, his path to Wrestlemania remains unclear. Depending on whether the Austin theory is destined for a match with John Cena, Gargano could still enter as a potential challenger for the United States Champion.
