Android 13 QPR3 Beta 1 is due to arrive next week

Well, it looks like Google is ready to move to the next step of its QPR (Quarterly Platform Release) beta program, as it has announced the arrival of Android 13 QPR3 Beta 1 next week. This beta will allow users to get an early look at Android 13 QPR3 build which is set to debut sometime in June.

The company announced the news through reddit, giving users early alerts of what to expect. While he didn’t go into details of what might appear in the beta, he did note that those enrolled in the current Beta program will automatically get the latest update when it’s released.

Now, one thing to note, and something Google says, is that in order to be eligible for the stable release of Android 13 QPR2, users will need to manually opt out. Previously, this update was rolled out to those in the beta program, but from now on, it appears that if you’re enrolled in the beta, you’ll continue to receive the betas, skipping the public release of the OS.

While this isn’t a big deal, beta versions are not stable sometimes, so if you’re using this on your main device, now might be the perfect time to opt out. Of course, you can always choose to opt out at any time, but by doing so on a beta cycle, you’ll be forced to wipe your device and start over. So, if you have any second thoughts, now is the time to make a change.

Google has some advice for users ahead of the release of Android 13 QPR3 Beta 1, which states that if you opt out, just wait for the stable release and apply this update instead of downgrading. The main reason to go this route, and as stated above, is to avoid wiping your device. Now, for the most part, this and any other beta version will be released by Google through its Beta program or you can download and install beta updates manually as well.
